Welcome to the website of the Islamic Foundation against violence.
We want to make a contribution to world peace. It is particularly important to continue to ask the question, what is the motive of humans to -whether in the name of a faith- proceed to violence.
Violence can be seized upon by everyone regardless of religion or background.
Several groupings approve the use of violence because they like to have influence on the policy of the country where they are established.
Moreover numerous political leaders approve of violence because they themselves feel threatened..
Also on a small scale, within the family, some men approve of violence because they are frightened for rebellion of their women and children or because they think these people have no right to speak.
All forms of violence have a certain strategy and any person or country has a different strategy to attack someone else. What worries us is the fact that during many of these outrages one calls: "God help us," many of them fight in the name of God. It seems as if one thinks that God has given the order to attack others or to deprive them of life.
Some think that every sect, movement or group has its own God and enter into a religious conflict with each other.
From an Islamic perspective, the God of Moses, the God of Jesus, of Mohammed and all others is one. This God in no way encourages the violence. None of the previously mentioned historical persons has commissioned to make others lives intolerable or to suppress each other.
They all strove for peace, greeted the people with a peace greeting and were not enemies. It is therefore wrong that many hide themselves behind God or behind their life example to approve violence.
What worries us even more are the people who are arrogantly and proudly parading on earth and are looking down on others, people who try to place themselves in higher positions at the expense of others, people who immediately judge others without knowing the truth, people who suppress others in public or secretly and assault them.
This behavior leads to disorder and disunion in the society or even on a small scale within the family. Disunion and disorder leads to discrimination or hate of dissenters and differently looking and this can express itself in violence.
Let us all take our responsibility and show respectful behavior both in public as well as within our homes and not point the finger at God if things are not going well.
Govern the earth is assigned to man and let us together take responsibility for this. Let us together solve the problems caused by people.
